HOW CAN I CONVINCE PEOPLE AROUND ME THAT,I REALLY DON’T MIND BECOMING HIS SECOND WIFE

I don’t know where to start from or how to tell my story, but I know I need help and someone to tell me what to do. I am at a loss; my heart aches and I am hurting. The sad thing, however, is the thought that I brought this on myself, please, kindly help me I am the first daughter of my family. Although I have two elder brothers, according to my mother, a lot of responsibilities rests on my shoulders, especially those of my younger ones; three of them.

I finished my Ordinary National Diploma(OND) and, during the course of my industrial attachment, I met and fell in love with Dan, one of the IT executives at the company where I served. I really did not know how it happened, it wasn’t what I planned, but Dan swept me off my feet and I fell for him.

I am a member of the Celestial Church of Christ, an elderly woman, who was a secretary at the company and who, because of our religious affiliations, took me like her daughter, warned me. I really do not know why; my parents also did not like him.

My father, who normally talks to people, couldn’t stand him and he always told me then that there was something about Dan that he could not place. I wish Mama Abigail, (that is what we all fondly called the elderly woman in my office) had told me all she knew about Dan. But even if she did, would I had listened at that time?

To cut my long story short, despite all the warnings and advice, I allowed Dan to have s*x with me. In fact, he deflowered me and few months after that day, I discovered that I was pregnant.

Dan would have denied the paternity of my baby. If not for his mother. He lived with his mother and I had visited him at home several times. Thank God his mother liked me and when the issue of my pregnancy came up. She stood her ground and refused to allow me to have an abortion.

Apart from his own issue, I had a tough time at home with my parents and senior siblings. Eventually, my father consented to my relationship with him but he stood his ground on the fact that I must finish my Higher National Diploma before we could get married.

I was delivered of a baby boy; Dan’s carbon copy, I never knew even with the joy of the new baby that Dan had other plans for himself. During my pregnancy, in fact from the time his mother insisted that I keep the pregnancy, he became a changed man from the man I used to know.

He treated me with so much disrespect and disdain that, sometimes, I was afraid to approach him for anything.

When it was time to buy the baby stuffs, his mother and mine provided the money. Even the day I gave birth, he was nowhere to be found.

Fortunately, I was still living with my parents and they provided enough psychological support for me. I went back for my HND, and I went for Youth service.

By the time I returned, I learnt Dan had married and was already raising his own family. I had no choice but to continue with my life. The funny thing, however, is the fact that I was unable to relate with or even date any other man.

As much as Dan disliked me, I loved him more. My son marked his 10th birthday in June and you won’t believe that his father came back that day, asking for forgiveness and my hand in a relationship.

My parents refused to give their blessing. My father said what he was asking for was rather cheap. Dan wants me to be his other woman as his wedded wife still resides with him.

People around me feel I deserve more than he is offering me. Even some of my friends are of the opinion that I don’t need Dan. Unanimously, it has been agreed that he should be allowed to take responsibility for his son.

My problem, however, is that my heart remains with Dan. How can I convince people around me that I love him so much that I don’t even mind being his other woman? Please, help me.

What Is Wrong In Taking Money From Your Hubby's Pocket?

From M-J READER:

I need to know. What is wrong in taking some change from your husbands pocket? Do all guys hate it or is it just mine?

Mine did not use to mind before but he later stopped me from doing it.(and i never took above a thousand naira.)

If i cooked food with my money and my hubby decides to scoop some without telling me, i wont get angry now, at least what is mine is his. Do all men dislike their wives taking money out of their pockets?

See How Some Nigerian Ladies Use Their Husbands Like Rags

This is a letter sent to us on how some Nigerian women treat their husbands in the US. We felt it should be shared as requested so others could learn from it. Below is the letter:

Some months ago, we all read in the news that Ghanaian women are the most unfaithful women in the world and they are number one. I can say it's not true. Nigerian women are the number one...

There was a family who moved from Italy to the U.S. to have a better life. This family arrived in the U.S. in 2008. The head of the family, Mr. Theo, who is in our group, left his family in care of his brother, who has been in the U.S. for more than 30 years.

Unfortunately, whenever he sends money to his family in the U.S., his wife uses the money to cater for her boyfriend in Houston, who is single.

She dated that man for few months until she went for another man who is a French man from Congo. According to the man, they have been dating since August 2008 till September 2012.

Theo got to know about his wife's French man boyfriend and chased the woman out so that she could continue her love affair with him. Theo had to go far away but sees his family only by permission.

The French man became everything to this woman but again, she started receiving lots of men in the house she share with the French man. This made the man insecured to the extent that he installed secret cameras in the house.

He was able to get all phone communications and got the help of an Ibo speaking friend to interpret the woman's conversations with other men for him.

The French man discovered that a man slept with the woman twice in the same month. According to the man, it happened in May, and when he came to knock at the door one day, she refused to open the door for so long.

When the man watched the video, he confronted her and she told the man that the man in the video raped her twice. The French man later discovered that another man rented the apartment she shares with him.

He asked her the name of the person but she refused to disclosed it. She became angry with the French man because she asked for the video but he refused to give it to her. The French man was right to be angry because French don't share their women.

They are very jealous but loving. If you want to play with their wife, they don't care even if they have to lose her, they fight for it.

Theo is the one paying for the house but can't sleep there. We see them in the meeting thinking that they are living together, but this man has been suffering for so many years but cannot do anything about it.

When we asked the French man why he took someone else's wife, he told us that according to the woman, she was not in that marriage and that she was forced into marrying Theo and was tired of him.

She also said that Theo doesn't satisfy her well in bed which made her to vow. having a boyfriend to supplement for Theo's inadequacies.

We listened to some audio conversations that the guy played to us, they were ridiculous.

When we heard the story, we were all angry at the French man but when we saw the video and the audio, we could not blame him, the woman is the prostitute and making the innocent husband suffer.

We will publish the picture of the lady and even the video if the French man hands them over to us. We will even buy it so that we can publish and it will be a lesson to other Nigerian women who are doing the same thing.

I want a woman I can marry

I met my present girl after my former wife left. We had no children between us. The current lady is 27 years, while I am 49.

My problem with her is that she is most concerned about what she can get from me while she is searching for a better offer.

We rarely make love and when we do, she insists I use a condom, whereas, from the beginning she knows my desire to have a child. My request to meet with her family members next month hasn’t been granted. As a matter of fact, she has refused to make a commitment to my request.

I’m a federal civil servant and live in my own house, though moderate. My problem now is I need a serious minded woman that I can conveniently live and raise a family with.

Depressed Man.

I'm Not The Father Of My Wife's 4 Children

It was drama undiluted at an Abia High court recently when a married man, Mr Richard Harrison prayed the court to dissolved his marriage to his wife, Julia over alleged infidelity.

In a suit brought through his counsel, Mr Stanley Amakwe, Harrison sought the leave of the court to dissolve the marriage on the ground that the marriage contract had broken down. He also insisted that the two sets of twins in the family are not his children.

Harrison claimed they were adopted by his wife without his consent and that he would have nothing to do with them any more. He told the court that he initially accepted the children in his home out of sympathy, but that it is time for them to leave with his wife.

Funny enough, the court sitting in Uzuakoli rejected Harrison's plea for the dissolution of his marriage over the paternity of two sets of twins in his home. The presiding Judge, Justice Joyce Adiele, said Harrison had no basis to deny the paternity of the children since they had been part of his household.

She said that the petitioner had earlier told the court that the two sets of twins were his children and that he had great plans for them. Justice Adiele said Section 69(c) of the Matrimonial Causes Act provides hat children in a marriage whether by birth or adoption are part of the marriage.

But surprisingly, counsel to his wife, Julia, told the court that the husband was the biological father of the children, claiming they were not adopted as claimed.

The counsel thus applied for an order of the court for a DNA test between Harrison and the children to authenticate the claims of his wife.

I Gave Away My V*rg*nity to Man, 35, But is He Using Me?

Gave my v*rgin*ty away to the man I have been dating for the last couple of months but we are not in a relationship and I don’t know how to approach him about it.

The Letter:
I am 18 and he is 35 next month. He will be meeting my mum soon as I want to put her mind at ease and prove that he is not some creep, as everyone seems to think he is.

I expected there to be some strong views about me seeing him because people think the difference in our ages is very negative and that it is wrong for us to be seeing one another.

They say it is creepy and so on but I am very happy I gave him my virginity. Even so, the things people have been saying worry me slightly as his last girlfriend was also teenager.

We have been out for coffees, had romantic walks, etc. but still nothing seems to be good enough to satisfy people that he is not using me.

I am worried about asking him if we can be in a relationship in case he turns round and says he is not ready. I don’t know what I would do then. I don’t want everyone who said he is only after one thing to be proved right.
I strongly believe he is not like that but sometimes I do think about how much older than me he is and wonder if it is odd. The negativity all around me brings me down.

What can I do?

The Response:
We are sure you are a lovely girl but why is this man not relating to someone in his own age group?

You and he appear to be just friends – plus s**x. S**x is for couples in a relationship who really care for one another, not for friends who have coffee and go for walks.

The risk here is that when he decides to move on – maybe because he thinks you are getting too close or dependent on him – you will feel seriously rejected.
Maybe deep down you know this and it is why you have found it so difficult to broach the subject of where this ‘relationship’ is going. You fear the reply you know he will give, or that he will just walk away.

I think my wife likes women

I would like to know if there are other men out there who think their wives are into women? I think mine is.

I went through her blackberry the other day and I couldn't believe the BB chat I read between her and someone I thought was just her friend. Another married woman for that matter.

Their chat was of a sexual nature, something you would expect between a man and a woman.

This lady even sent photos of her boobs and private parts to my wife. I eventually confronted my wife about it and she said they were just joking around. Who jokes around with p**sy photos? What should I do now?

Should I have My Sister’s Baby? – I Need Advice

My sister and I are orphans. Our parents died when I was 8 yrs. old. My older sister is married and has been barren for almost 12 years without a child. After much consultation, she was informed that she would not be able to have kids.

Last night, she came to my house and begged me to carry a child for her. She said that since we are blood sisters, it would be like she was the one having the child. She does not want her husband to go out and get someone else pregnant and then, the woman would end up kicking her out of her husband’s house. She said it would be okay since I was still single and not in any relationship.

I DON’T LOVE MY FIANCE LIKE I USED TO

I’m a huge fan of your blog and I really admire your approach to life. Ok, here’s the gist… I was dating this guy since my first year in the university and I equally assisted him in getting entry into school the next academic session. I loved him but we had unending issues for all the years we dated and I broke it up when I graduated. I felt we weren’t close any more, there was little or no communication, and I’m igbo, he’s not.

Also he became verbally abusive and to crown it all, he’s a Muslim while I’m from a strong catholic home.
Now after I called it off, we never communicated for over a year and only reconnected early this year. I am a corp member now while he’s about rounding off with his final projects in school. He wanted us to continue from where we stopped and hopefully get married.

After much thought, I obliged because the other relationship I entered after him didn’t even last up to six months. My supposed lover who promised to mend my heart practically jilted me and got married few months later. I was wrecked and made a firm decision to find true love that is indeed true to the word.
So, I decided to give my Muslim luv another try and now, he’s exceptionally sweet, he’s due for a total conversion to Catholicism by month end, he respects me and always at my beck and call but the problem now is I don’t feel so much for him anymore like I used to which is a bad sign. I’m at the verge of asking him to just move on and let’s be friends but I I’m really confused and I really don’t know what to do.

I’ll be going for my masters in a couple of months and the next thing when I get back after getting a good job is marriage and my Muslim luv is not financially buoyant. Should I risk it and wait for him, or I should tell him how I feel so he can move on or what. Please I need your take on this, what do you think I should do… and I don’t mind if you post it on your blog…thanks.

My Boyfriend Don't Have Money and I Need Money; Can I Dump Him?

I need to know if love can survive without money because in my situation i do not think so. I have a boyfriend that i love and he loves me too but he is broke and really jealous and possessive. We have been dating for almost two years now and i have been faithful and honest.

The problem here is that my sponsors who help out with my education are no longer helping out as they used too and i have so many needs for money especially...
My textbooks and other essentials which i can't readily get anymore and my boyfriend, being broke cannot help out either. He is yet to get a job and i am getting really sick and tired because i need money FAAAAST!

I met someone else who can actually assist me cos he is financially stable but i am reluctant in accepting his proposal of a relationship because of my current relationship.

Should i break up with my boyfriend? I know it would hurt him but i really can't keep up with all these problems anymore. PLZ I NEED YOUR SINCERE ADVISE

A MUST READ:True life story Written by a COLLEGE GIRL before she DIED.....

I Took Off My UNDERWEAR..

I used to be that innocent girl who had the world at her feet. I was beautiful and I had eyes and HIPS that could make men sway, andto top it all up, I was a Christian, a very good Christian with a heart burning for God. When I entered the university, I met a guy, his name was DERRICK. I couldn't believe my luck the first time I bumped into him on my way to class, he had such a kind smile and a tender look that weakened my knees when he spoke. Because I was late for class we couldn't talk much but barely three weeks later, I met him at the fresher’s night party and I was overwhelmed. We got talking and I found out that he was in his second year and from that night, we became an inseparable pair. At first, we were friends and as months passed by, we got closer and closer and the chemistry between us was undeniable.

About a year after I entered the university, Derrick and I started dating. He was everything a girl could ever want and desire save the fact that he wasn't so much of a Christian. Derrick had magical hands that made him hard to resist and most times I fell for it. At first, I felt bad but when I couldn't help falling into the same pit I killed the guilt on my inside. And then one day, one of my friends said I was getting fatter and that got me thinking and in the process I began to linkthe dots…first I had a vomiting spree every morning which I thought was due to a flu and then I had this morning sickness which I felt was due to stress and then my missing period…oh no it can’t be possible I said to myself, I couldn't be pregnant!!!

After a series of test outside school, I realized the deadliest truth, I was indeed pregnant. I was only nineteen, I still had a whole life ahead of me, what was I going to do. I couldn't tell my parents, they wouldn't hear ofit. I had to go to Derrick to tell him what I had found out.

On telling him, I saw him fly into a temper I had never seen in my life. He was so hysterical, calling me all sorts of names and I didn't even know when I started crying heart drenching tears of hurt and betrayal. When helooked into my eyes he must have realized how scared and hurt I was and so he pulled me close and ran his hands through my hair until I had calmed down and then he said tome in the most subtle voice ever ”why don’tyou have an abortion”. I pulled back instantly, I couldn't have an abortion! But when he talked about my parents and the sanctioning of the school and the fellowship which I belonged to, I knew I had no other choice.

Derrick had made all the arrangements and soon the supposed day we went to the room- like clinic. I shivered all through my way there but Derrick kept telling me that it would be okay and that he was proud that I made such a brave decision. When I entered into the room where the abortion was supposed to take place I laid down on the table trying to dissociate my mind from what I was about to do and then a young man told me sternly,”you know I can’t perform this procedure with your underwear on” and then I began topull it off. As I did this a sense of guilt overwhelmed me, first I had pulled off my UND**RWEAR of pleasure and now I was pulling it off to get rid of the stigma the pleasure had brought…what a shame, I felt soexposed.

All through the times that I felt instruments coming in and out of me, I kept thinking of the lady I had become and the hypocrite I hadtransformed into. I let out a sigh, only if I can get through this I muttered… only if…and then I felt a sharp pain pierce through the whole of my body, I screamed but then the doctor told me to be quiet. I felt another pain but this time I bit my lip and then the pain began to come in successions.

I instinctively knew that something was wrong but I was too weak to talk or to move and then I heard the voices of Derrick and the doctor talking about the fact that I was bleeding excessively. The pain was so unbearable and I could feel myself getting weaker and weaker. With the last strength in me, I pleaded with God”Oh Lord I’m so sorry for taking my under wears off, please forgive me.” and I drifted into a world where the pain seemed less hurtful andthe voices seemed more distant.

Friends, our bodies are the temples of the Lord… Do not take off your UNDERWEAR whenthe time is not right. Lots of girls who gained admission into the university as virgins eventually lost it so cheaply to guys who have nothing to do with their destinies. In a bid to get a certificate, they sold out a destiny that certificate cannot guarantee....she died long time ago..

If U HAVE A HEART and her story and death touched YOU..write R.I.P.....if YOU didn't feel anything ignore........R .I.P

9 Fights to Have with Your Husband

Fight

While constantly arguing with your husband doesn’t make for a happy marriage, your relationship can suffer as badly if you hold back feelings until you finally explode. “We go from being passive to being aggressive, when it’s optimal to be assertive,” says Elizabeth Lombardo, PhD, author of A Happy You: Your Ultimate Prescription for Happiness. And there are certain subjects that are best to address as soon as possible. Here, experts share their thoughts on nine fights worth starting—and why doing so can actually improve your marriage.

The fight: “You're too obsessed with your phone/iPad.”

After a long day, you want to catch up with your husband—not compete with Angry Birds or whoever’s texting him for his attention. “Energy spent on your phone is energy that’s not being put into the relationship,” says Alisa Bowman, author of Project: Happily Ever After. Rather than roll your eyes when he whips out his cell, start a conversation. Try: “If we’re talking and you take a phone call, I feel like I don’t matter to you,” suggests Laurie Puhn, couples mediator and author of Fight Less, Love More: 5-Minute Conversations to Change Your Relationship without Blowing Up or Giving In.

After that, come up with ground rules about disconnecting, whether it’s during meals together or for an hour each night. And stick with that plan. If he slips up, which he will at first, Puhn recommends saying something like: “Was that text important, or did you just forget our new rule? In that case, a foot massage is in order!” If your mate isn’t following the guidelines at all, sit down and re-discuss what works for you, she says.

The fight: “I feel like it's all on me, all the time.”

Besides growing exhausted from doing every chore on your own, you may also begin to feel like your hubby doesn’t care about you if he doesn’t chip in. But that’s not how he sees it. “Men process things in different ways. Women put the burden on themselves and personalize things,” says Lombardo.

If you’re feeling unsupported, say something before you start resenting your spouse. Speaking up did wonders for DeVonne of Bowie, MD. The working mom of twins reached her boiling point when she realized she was on the go from 5:00 a.m. until 10 p.m. “I told my husband, ‘I’m a super mommy, but I need to take off my cape sometimes—you need to help out more,’” she says. After a little yelling and some tears, her husband does everything she does around the house and with their twins.

Start the discussion when stress levels are low, advises Lombardo. And be specific about your needs. Try: “It would help me if you handle these three things each week without me asking.” Also, adds Lombardo, point out what’s in it for him: a happier, more energetic wife. Just know, however, that sometimes you will have to make requests if he forgets. “Assertively but kindly ask, ‘Honey, could you empty the dishwasher?’” suggests Bowman. “We don’t think we should have to make these simple requests. In reality, though, some spouses need a nudge.”

The fight: “You need to see a doctor.”

Jenny of Powder Springs, GA, grew tired of her husband’s complaints about headaches and arm numbness because he refused to visit a doctor. She even jokingly suggested she increase his life insurance policy! She finally got him to change his ways with help from family—she and his parents together convinced him to get checked out. The diagnosis: high blood pressure. “Now he’s on medication and doing much better. No more headaches!” says Jenny.

Your first step: Try to figure out the source of your hubby’s doctor-avoidance, says Puhn. “People often ignore health concerns because they don’t know what to do if they get bad news. Ask if that’s the problem, and then research treatments for the ailments your mate fears the most,” she suggests. “The fact that there are ways to solve health problems could persuade him to go to the doctor.”

Then, make it clear to your hubby that you’re picking this fight for his well-being, not because he’d look better if he lost a few pounds, for instance. Compliments won’t hurt either. When you bring this up, focus on how much you need, love and care about him and want him to stick around for the long haul. How could he argue with that?

The fight: “Don't undermine my authority in front of the kids.”
It’s tough to be taken seriously when your children witness Dad overruling one of your decisions. It could be as innocent as him giving your son a few extra minutes playing his video game (after you’ve told him to power down), but if done repeatedly, the kids will catch on. Try: “Our children know they can get away with stuff. Let’s get on the same page,” advises Lombardo.

Put it out there that if one of you makes a decision, the other parent must uphold it. You can discuss differing parenting styles when the kids aren’t there, but in front of them, stand united. When one of you isn’t around to check with the other, try to hold out on offering a decision, suggests Puhn. “Whether it’s how late a teen can stay out or how much money to give her, don’t cave just because your child wants an answer immediately.”

The fight: “You spend too much money.” Or “You’re too cheap.”

Before you get into a spending spat, think about your spouse’s motivations. According to Lombardo, “a spender may want to enjoy their hard work, while a saver wants to feel safe.” Still, whatever money matter is important to you, don’t keep it bottled up.

*Monica from Detroit, MI, says her husband still thanks her for picking a fight about purchasing long-term-care insurance years ago. “He thought it was too expensive. Ten years later, the prices have exploded and the generous policy we bought then isn't offered anymore,” she says. How did she convince him? She compared the costs of not having insurance (like what nursing homes may charge decades from now) to having it. Buying insurance turned out to be the smarter spending strategy. So when a purchase is necessary or can save you more money in the long run, lay out that argument as Monica did.

While you shouldn’t waste energy on money spent or saved in the past, make a rule for the future, advises Puhn. “Maybe you’re both free to spend what you want up to a certain amount or from a specific account, and beyond that you must consult your partner,” she says.

The fight: “You work all the time.”

Especially in a tough job market, your husband may be putting in extra hours to stay in his boss’s good graces. Or maybe he simply enjoys his work. Whatever the case, you barely see him and you’re feeling lonely. “You’re not getting what you need, but he thinks he’s being the perfect husband by providing,” says Bowman.

But saying “stop working so much” won’t work. He’ll hear “you don’t respect what I’m doing or how hard I’m working,” explains Lombardo. Instead, emphasize that you miss him and come up with ways to spend more time together, she suggests. Maybe you can wake up earlier some mornings to have coffee with each other, schedule a standing date night (even if he has to return to work after) or meet at the gym for a joint workout.

The fight: “You can’t let your family/friends treat me like that!”
It’s inevitable that an in-law or one of your hubby’s buddies will offend at some point, and your partner’s failure to defend you might leave you fuming. But here’s the thing: Your husband may not even know why you’re mad, says Lombardo. “Sit him down, take a deep breath and say: ‘Here’s what happened and here’s why it upset me. What can we do about it?’”

But don’t hold your partner accountable for others’ actions, just as you wouldn’t want to be on the hook for something your mom or best friend did. Instead, discuss how you can eliminate the potential for problems in the future. For instance, when he hangs out with his old college roommate (the one you can’t stand), have alternate plans for yourself. Or the next time his mom criticizes your parenting in front of the whole family, he’ll speak to her about it privately.

The fight: “You’re constantly complaining.”
Everyone has the occasional bad day, but if your ranting hubby is frequently sucking the joy out of your time together, get his complaining in check. That’s what *Michelle from Oregon had to do after her husband groused about little things on a family trip, like stepping off the airport security line so their son could finish a drink he couldn’t take to the gate. Michelle confronted him about the behavior, and they both acknowledged that he was struggling with separating his intense business trips from laid-back getaways. “Now I remind him to make a mental change from work travel mode to fun vacation mode when we take family trips,” says Michelle.

When your husband complains, be a good listener, but only for a few minutes, says Bowman. He may not realize he’s being a downer, so after he has his say, point out the bright side and then tell him it’s time to switch gears, she suggests.

The fight: “You only show affection when you want to fool around.”

“The interpretation is he’s using you for your body,” says Lombardo, even though that’s likely not the case. He married you, after all! Without consistent affection, though, a woman might not feel consistently loved. Not to mention, his sex-driven moves will end up leading to less intimacy, says Bowman. “When you see him coming, you may tense up, which kills the mood,” she explains.

The solution: Designate some nights as sex-free ones, during which it’s his job to still give affection, but with no strings attached, suggests Bowman. Lombardo adds that women need to be vocal about their need for a physical connection outside of the bedroom. “Tell him, ‘When you hold my hand or hug me, it reminds me you love me,’” she recommends.
